What Is Dry Eye?

Dry eye is a common condition that affects your tear’s ability to hydrate and nourish your eyes. Symptoms can include stinging, irritation, and blurry vision, and causes can include aging, medications, autoimmune diseases, environment, and lifestyle factors. However, one of the most common causes of dry eye symptoms is meibomian gland dysfunction, an issue that directly affects your tear film quality.

Our Approach

Symptoms can differ greatly from person to person, so we approach each case with an eye for detail and an understanding of your eye’s unique needs.

After examining your eyes, we create a personalized treatment plan to help support your eye comfort. These treatment plans can include in-office strategies, eye drops, medications, or a combination of techniques to help you find the eye comfort you deserve.

OptiLight by Lumenis

OptiLight by Lumenis is a light-based, non-invasive treatment done in the area below the eyes to manage dry eye. The first and only IPL FDA-approved for dry eye management.

The treatment is safe, gentle, and is backed by more than 20 clinical studies.

TearCare thermal eyelid treatment is a heat therapy designed to help address meibomian gland dysfunction.

Using a low-level infrared light, TearCare technology gently warms your eyelids, stimulating the glands that produce oils that help stabilize your tear film.

BlephEx uses a specially designed handpiece to gently exfoliate and remove bacteria and biofilm from the eyelid margins that can cause blepharitis, or inflammation of the eyelid.

This helps to improve overall tear production and reduce dry eye symptoms.

Therapeutic eye drops provide temporary relief of symptoms such as redness, stinging, and burning sensations in the eyes.

Depending on your needs, we can recommend over-the-counter or prescription products.
